CRS EXPERIENCES

Activ’Travel is offering opportunities where clients can take responsibility for the impact of their activities on suppliers, employees, communities, as well as the environment. We are very much involved in developing CRS projects and we had several experience in our realisations. We think is a very good way to share some of the wealth that tourism is bringing to the country. When we have a 4X4 excursion in the Atlas Mountains and the track goes through local villages and communities we always try to stop and have our clients interact with the locals. As a company our policy is to use local supplier (we will never ask a caterer from Marrakech or elsewhere to work in a village up in the mountain - we give this part of the business to locals that are trained to fulfil our standard of service). Some example of our CSR experiences:

• • Key food (US company) has sponsored the building of a school in the village of Agergour in the region of Asni (1 hour drive fro Marrakech). The official opening of the school was done with the participants and the local community.
• • Red bull from UK has sponsored the building of 2 incinerators to destroy garbage that is collected from the mountains by the locals in the village of Imlil. The day when the incinerators started functioning the participants built adobe walls to protect the structure. They had lunch in the village with local dignitaries.
• • Charity: every year we manage to sponsor the buying of school bags (+/- 200 pieces) that are sent to local association for distribution.
• • The great Moroccan runner, Hicham El Guerrouj, who still holds some of the most prestigious middle distance world records (mile + 1500m), works also with us on some conference (Académie des entrepreneurs – Fez 2006) and donate his fees to local associations.
